Demodectic Mange

I have a concern about Cali. She has been diagnosed with Demodectic mange. I had the vet use a drug called ivomec (ivermectin) (for cattle and sheep) about .069cc every night, but it didn't work and I found it to be too toxic for poor Cali. She is still itchy, red, and patchy and the med's were making her vomit. Now her skin is turning blackish and her heart is irregular. I've stopped the treatment. Not only is my vet expensive, but she is older and doesn't know "new" ways of doing things. Apparently there is a toxic bath you should give but is very expensive. She was talking hundreds of $ because its more than one treatment. Argh. I just want her to be happy and comfortable. I gave her some Benadryl for the itch and I'm bathing her all the time using a special shampoo.

Any advice will help

Life of Large Bone...is Short

This was a must take picture....she is working on this big bone every night. She is settling in great and has the spunk of a young pup sometimes. I didn't expect that from her. Its great to see. When she chases me she is really really fast.

Ever Seen An Upside-Down Cow?

Millie likes to "Guard" the front door to the shop. As you can see she is doing a great job.
